1.0 INTRODUCTION
M.Sc. Finance and Economic Development or Master of Science in Finance and Economic Development is a postgraduate Finance and Economic Development course. Finance and Economic Development includes Environmental economics, Growth and Development and the development and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI). The speciality also focuses on defining Taxation and Public Finance in Developing Economics. The course syllabus is split into two semesters and students have several career opportunities after completing it.

The MSc Finance and Economic Development (Top-up) aims to extend and enhance the understanding and competence gained via professional qualifications and to enhance the ability of students to think strategically about management and organizational change within Finance and Economic Development.
This programme is designed for (Postgraduate) in Finance and Economic Development graduates and provides a means by which the continuing professional and personal needs of Development practitioners can be met.
This programme will broaden your specialist knowledge previously gained at a professional level. In particular, the module, ‘Finance and Economic Development research project’ guides you to research into the key challenges Finance and Economic Development professionals face in the industry. This module aims to equip Finance and Economic Development professionals with the necessary skills to undertake independent project work within a development context. The Research Methods element provides you with an introduction to research, types of research methodology, formulating and planning a research project, data collection, analysis, and presentation of research findings based upon an actual industry-specific or economic development focused topic.
